Love is the greatest power that we have.  Love comes in many forms: kindness, compassion, understanding, giving someone a second chance, helping a stranger, allowing someone to go first, giving some encouragement, trying to see a situation through eyes of another or just taking time and listening.  Putting love out into the world changes it for the better.

There are social issues like gangs, there are drugs at school, there are the timeless issues such as friendship, popularity and love and there are bullies.  Top it off with stricter requirements and getting through school is not easy and an accomplishment to be celebrated!  Enjoy your summer!

Peace

Morning Star Lavender Incense on sale!

morning star lavender 50Morning Star Lavender on sale $2.85!

If you have never tried Japanese Incense, now is the time.  Nippon Kodo’s Morning Star Lavender infuses the room with a delicate lavender aroma.  The sticks, like all Morning Star, have no wooden bamboo core, they are pure incense.  Each package of incense comes with a little ceramic incense holder.  The sticks are delicate, perhaps 3 mm thick, but they burn slowly. And if they should break, no matter, they burn at any size!  We like standing 5 or 6 of them up in a little dish full of sand.  It is a visual and olfactory treat!

Beautiful just because

Don’t forget to sing your song today! Light some Ma Laxmi Dhoop incense and get creative, get spontaneous, do what you do best!

Happiness Needs No Reason

In reading a little Osho, I noticed that the one idea he comes back to again and again is that the significance of life, beauty or happiness is that it is significant in itself-it needs no other reason than just that it is!  These things just exist for the beauty of existing, just like we do!  We are here and that is enough.

Respect Life

May we all do so and realize that the only difference between us is where we are standing on the planet.

Joy

Joy comes in many shapes and sizes every day.  Sometimes it is just a delight in seeing a friend or hearing favorite music.  Whatever brings you joy, do it and do it often.  When you are happy and joyful, others are more inclined to be so too!  Joy is a gift you give to yourself and to others around you…

Scent helps to bring joy and change perspective.  Try taking an incense break or smelling a favorite perfume or essential oil.  Keep a little bit of resin in your desk at work or your car and do some scent therapy whenever needed.  It can really make a difference in your day!

See Yourself in Everyone

Buddha in Earh Touching Mudra

“Continue practicing until you see yourself in the cruelest person on Earth, in the child starving, in the political prisoner. Practice until you recognize yourself in everyone in the supermarket, on the street corner, in a concentration camp, on a leaf, in a dewdrop. Meditate until you see yourself in a speck of dust in a distant galaxy. See and listen with the whole of your being.

If you are fully present, the rain of Dharma will water the deepest seeds in your consciousness, and tomorrow, while you are washing the dishes or looking at the blue sky, that seed will spring forth, and love and understanding will appear as a beautiful flower.”

~ Thich Nhat Hanh ~
